Ashish Choudhary, EVP and chief business officer of Nokia Networks has joined Apple as its India head. Choudhary, who will take charge in January 2009 will oversee sales function at Apple India.
Choudhary was part of Nokia’s India team that helped the phone maker in driving growth and setting up its manufacturing facility. He has headed several assignments at Nokia, including head of global services, head of Asia / Middle East, Africa and head of global sales (customer operations). He joined Nokia in 2003.
Choudhary, who was country head of Nokia networks in India from 2003 to 2007, holds an undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Delhi, India; Master’s degree in Computer Science from the Emory University, Atlanta; and Master’s degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
At present, Choudhary is operating from London.
After Sanjay Kaul stepped down last year, Apple had brought in Michel Coulomb to steer sales for South Asia.
