Celebrities are signed up as brand ambassadors because their very success and presence inspires action. Be it Amitabh Bachchan for "Kuchh Din to Guzaro Gujarat mein", Salman Khan for "Swachh Bharat Abhiyan" or Mary Kom for a film by her name. ASIRT Techday conducted in the month of November inspired members not to run away from IT business but to run literally.

Celebrity writer and speaker, Amit Shineth, author of "Dare to Run" was the speaker at this Techday. As a person, he introduced himself as a self-acclaimed couch potato who did not run till the age of 35 and had to consult an Orthopaedic and Physiotherapist on starting his walk. He spoke of how he battled his pain, his body and his mind to run a series of marathons in the past few years. His speech, packed with subtle humour and finest engrossing story of his first Marathon in Mumbai, which he barely completed and ended at a failure at the 89km Comrades Marathon by a whisker, was not only motivational but inspired members. After listening to this incredible journey of determination, discovery, courage, self-awareness and self-belief, many members committed at the event to devote one hour a day to physical fitness. It seems the next Mumbai Marathon will have an addition of 50 marathoners from ASIRT alone and, as per Amit, will do the impossible that any ordinary mortal can achieve.

The session was further taken ahead by the presentation of Schneider Electric (Lead Sponsor), that gave a fantastic insight into their data center product lines, cooling, green technology and resilience. It was a deep dive for members to help them showcase APC technical superiority.

Event Co-Sponsor F-Secure has introduced their product lines in the security and antivirus space. F-Secure also gave away a licensed copy of 5 user products for ASIRT members.
