boAt has introduced Airdopes ProClip, an affordable open-ear audio device tailored for Indian consumers, combining comfort, situational awareness, and audio privacy, and manufactured under the Make in India initiative to suit everyday usage scenarios.
boAt, India’s leading audio and wearables brand, has launched the Airdopes ProClip, a new pair of open-ear earbuds designed specifically for Indian usage conditions. The company aims to address the limited adoption of open-ear audio in India by offering a more affordable product that balances comfort, awareness of surroundings, and listening privacy.
Globally, open-ear audio devices have gained popularity due to their lightweight design and ability to let users remain aware of ambient surroundings while enjoying music or handling calls. However, in India, adoption has been relatively slow, largely due to high pricing and a lack of products designed for diverse everyday environments such as crowded commutes, workplaces, and outdoor activities.
boAt said Indian consumers often use audio devices across varied and dynamic settings, making it essential to combine environmental awareness with clear sound quality and privacy. The Airdopes ProClip has been developed to address these expectations by adapting the open-ear form factor to local usage patterns.
Built for Indian conditions with local manufacturing
The Airdopes ProClip is manufactured in Noida at Califonix, a joint venture between boAt Lifestyle and Dixon Technologies under the Make in India initiative. The company said the product reflects its broader strategy of localising global audio trends to meet Indian consumer needs through domestic design and manufacturing capabilities.
The earbuds feature an open-ear structure designed for extended comfort while allowing users to stay aware of their surroundings. According to boAt, the design supports seamless transitions between different daily activities, including commuting, workouts, work calls, and casual listening.
Commenting on the launch, Gaurav Nayyar, CEO, boAt, said: "Open-ear audio is one of the most exciting shifts happening in personal audio globally. Consumers increasingly want products that allow them to stay connected to their surroundings without compromising on comfort or convenience. However, categories become truly meaningful only when they are adapted to local consumer needs. With Airdopes ProClip, we have taken a globally popular form factor and redesigned the experience for Indian consumers by addressing key concerns around privacy, listening performance and accessibility. This is another example of how boAt is bringing global technology trends to India in a way that is relevant, practical and affordable."
Features, design and pricing
The Airdopes ProClip comes with a range of features aimed at improving comfort, stability, and audio clarity during everyday use. These include a cloud-fit lightweight design, a secure loop structure for stability during movement, and all-day wearing comfort. The device also incorporates Sonic Seal technology to minimise audio leakage, along with ambient sound awareness to help users stay alert to their surroundings.
The open-ear design is intended for long-duration use and is particularly suited for activities such as commuting, workouts, and general mobility. boAt highlighted that the product is engineered to maintain a secure fit even during active movement, making it suitable for users with dynamic lifestyles.
The Airdopes ProClip is available in white, grey, and wine colour variants. It is currently on sale through boAt’s official website as well as major e-commerce platforms including Amazon and Flipkart. The earbuds are priced at an introductory launch price of INR 1,599, positioning them as an affordable entry point into the open-ear audio category in India.
