To further strengthen connectivity, BSNL has activated 90 BTS towers in the Mela area, with 30 each for 4G (700 MHz), 3G (2100 MHz), and 2G, ensuring extensive network coverage
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is playing a pivotal role in ensuring reliable communication services at the Mahakumbh 2025, as part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. With millions of pilgrims and devotees gathering every day, BSNL has taken extensive measures to provide seamless connectivity, focusing on enhancing the communication infrastructure in the Mela area.
As part of this effort, BSNL has established a dedicated customer service centre where pilgrims can receive on-site assistance, resolve complaints, and ensure uninterrupted communication services. The company is also distributing free SIM cards from various circles across India to pilgrims, allowing them to stay connected with their families and friends. If a pilgrim loses or damages their SIM card, they can easily obtain a replacement without having to return to their home state. BSNL’s camp office at Lal Road Sector-2 serves as the operational hub for managing these services.
Strengthening infrastructure for uninterrupted service
The demand for services like fiber connections, mobile recharges, and leased line connections has surged during the Kumbh. BSNL has responded by making SIM cards from various states available, not only benefiting pilgrims but also assisting security personnel deployed at the event. The company’s commitment to maintaining quality services was evident during peak events like Makar Sankranti and Mauni Amavasya, where the communication network remained stable even with large crowds.
