CES 2018 to focus on AI capabilities
World’s largest tech show Consumer Technology Association (CES 2018 ) will kick off in Las Vegas from January 9 to 12. About 4,000 companies - many of them start-ups - are expected to arrive in the city. The event is most popular globally for the consumer gadgets. With newer disruptions getting innovated, the show will also showcase artificial intelligence, automobiles, medicine, marketing and even agriculture.
Artificial intelligence is the culmination of software, algorithms and sensors working together to make your everyday appliances smarter and more automated. It is AI that is telling the door to unlock when the camera recognizes you, or sending an alert to your phone when sensors detect a person.
Tech companies are looking to push internet connectivity beyond products in your home and they will demonstrate prototypes of devices embedded with some of these sensors with the hope that cities will soon begin adopting these technologies within their infrastructure.
The event will also witness the technology into smart city, smart car, smart living and smart Next generation technology into wireless; 5G, which is incredibly fast speed that let smartphone users download a movie in less than five seconds - roughly 100 times faster than the current network technology, 4G. The rise of electric-powered cars and self-driving technologies will see automobiles and plenty of smaller drones too take on a greater role at CES.
3D printer, aimed at the business market, opens up a whole new world of possibilities. Developed by India-based startup Ethereal Machines, it is a 5-axis machine as even the printer bed moves. The printer can also add and remove layers of plastic with its tool head. With all the innovations into Television, Robotics, AI and VR, the year 2018 could be the year of users finally controlling their technology rather than being controlled by it.
