Cleartrip suffered Data Breach; takes Legal Action
Cleartrip has suffered data breach but said it is taking a legal recourse against the hackers. The website has requested its users to change their passwords as assigned for safety.
Flipkart-owned travel portal’s internal online travel system has suffered due to the breach after which the start-up revealed that an e-mail was delivered to its customers on 18 July and requested them to reset or update their passwords as a precautionary measure.
The message also stated: “This is to inform you that there has been a security anomaly that entailed illegal and unauthorised access to a part of Cleartrip’s internal systems.”
The company made numerous attempts to reassure its clients that the event did not compromise any of the account holder’s personal information and that only a few personal details have been breached.
