Confluera, company into cyber security is redefining the security paradigm by introducing real-time interception and response capabilities to deal with modern cyberattacks and with the aim to turn security analysts into cyber defenders by enabling them to stop breaches in real time, Co-Founded by Abhijit Ghosh, Niloy Mukherjee, and Bipul Sinha.
* With the specialization of capturing the real-time attack interception, received a $9 million Series A funding last week and the Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round, with Microsoft Chairman John Thompson as an angel investor; Thompson will also serve on the company’s board. Confluera Real-time Attack Interception and Defense is the industry’s first platform to deterministically identify and stop ongoing complex, multi-stage attacks.
Confluera is a real-time cybersecurity company. We are delivering the industry’s first platform to deterministically stop cyberattacks in real time, says, co-founder and CEO Abhijit Ghosh. As per the estimates of “Gartner this year there will be spending upwards of $124 billion on cybersecurity,” Confluera CEO and cofounder Abhijit Ghosh told Forbes. “With all that spending, enterprises are still not able to protect their assets and reputation, so what we’re bringing is an ability to identify, track and stop advanced attacks before the damage is done.”
The Founding members of Confluera has the track record of building revolutionary solutions:
* Abhijit Ghosh, Co-founder and CEO – Engineering Leader Juniper Networks, Azanda Networks, and Siemens;
* Niloy Mukherjee, Co-founder and Chief Architect – Lead Architect Oracle In-Memory Database and LinkedIn Distributed Data Systems;
* Bipul Sinha, Co-founder and Chairman – Co-Founder & CEO Rubrik, Founding investor/Board Member Nutanix, and engineering at Oracle.
Current solutions have failed to prevent attackers from navigating through the enterprise infrastructure. This has led to more frequent and devastating data breaches, reputational damage and regulatory action for businesses, while adversaries roam freely through their critical infrastructure. Whereas, Confluera tracks activity within a business’s digital infrastructure and created a real-time map of how data moves through operating systems. Movements deemed malicious by contextualized security signals are thwarted.
Thompson, who was recruited by Bipul Sinha, Confluera cofounder and chairman, as well as CEO and cofounder of Rubrik, says he was especially intrigued by the platform’s ability to make data actionable.
“Large enterprises have layer upon layer of security functionality. They’re collecting massive amounts of data, but they’re not able to do much with it to address attack prevention, as opposed to post-attack analysis,” Thompson told Forbes. “Using insights from the data that you gather to avoid attacks helps large enterprises take control from attackers who are becoming more well funded and aggressive.”
Confluera will make its debut at Black Hat, the annual security conference in Las Vegas, in August. Until then, to scale initial outreach, Confluera has been meeting with companies’ IT and cybersecurity teams to solve specific use cases.
Recently, John Chambers,. JC2 Ventures LLC chief executive officer and former Cisco Systems Inc. chief executive officer, and Bipul Sinha, Rubrik Inc. chief executive officer, discuss Rubrik's prospects and the concerns over Elon Musk's leadership of Tesla Inc.
Confluera maps slow-moving multistage attacks to the cyber kill chain, so you can see where the malicious software is moving. That’s something I haven’t seen in the industry.”
Microsoft chairman John Thompson, who is also an investor, says this is more than just real-time detection or real-time remediation. “It’s not just the audit trail and telling them what to do. It’s more importantly blocking the attack in real time. And that’s the unique nature of this platform, that you’re able to use the insight that comes from the science of the data to really block the attacks in real time.”
Confluera is uniquely positioned to revolutionize how brands protect themselves and their customers from modern cyberattacks,The caliber of the Confluera team speaks to the confidence we have in their innovative and market-disrupting approach to cybersecurity,” said John W. Thompson, Chairman of Microsoft.
Lastly, the fact that the Confluera platform can help identify and engage with the attackers in real time, is the first step towards winning the cyber warfare.
