The Union ministry of health and family welfare stated that the CoWIN platform does not collect any information about COVID-19 infection history of any person and its only work is to manage vaccination drives in the country.
The Ministry of Health said, CoWIN has been built as a platform to manage vaccination in the country. CoWIN enforces only those rules (relating to gaps between two shots) as announced by the Centre from time to time.
The union health ministry today stated that over 2.02 crore beneficiaries of age group 18-44 have been administered COVID vaccine doses so far.
As per the data available till 7 pm, 12,23,596 beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years received their first dose and 13,402 beneficiaries of the same age group received their second dose of COVID vaccine.
"Cumulatively, 2,02,10,889 persons across 37 states/UTs have received their first dose and a total 23,491 have received their second dose since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive," the MoHFW stated.
Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have administered more than 10 lakh beneficiaries of the age group 18-44 years for the first dose of COVID vaccine.
