Backed by $8 million investment from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Strategic Investment Fund (London and Seattle) and Chiratae Ventures in its last round of Series B funding, CropIn’s solutions empower agribusinesses to become more data-driven in order to effectively drive business strategies.
As a non-executive director and member of the AI council, Dr. Iya Khalil brings in complementary expertise to CropIn’s board and guides the company in sharpening its AI-ML and data strategy. Dr. Khalil’s extensive experience will help CropIn to build accuracy in AI and deep learning models to strengthen its predictive and prescriptive analytics layers for the agriculture ecosystem. Bringing 18 years of expertise into the system, Dr. Khalil will help CropIn achieve its goal of becoming the world’s largest AI-driven Ag Data platform.

Dr. Iya Khalil is a technology entrepreneur and physicist with a vision of transforming medicine into a discipline that is quantitative, predictive, and patient-centric. Dr. Khalil is a co-founder of two big-data companies - Via Science and GNS Healthcare and is the co-inventor of the proprietary computational engine that underpins both entities. Dr. Iya was recognized by President Obama as a leading entrepreneur in genomic medicine. Recently, she was appointed to the Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) Oversight Council by Governor Baker.
