Seven people including two men and five women are arrested by the Delhi Police for their alleged involvement in running a fake call centre that used to dupe innocent people on the pretext of providing private jobs.
According to the police, they received a complaint where the complainant alleged that she was contacted by a woman named Muskan via phone who stated that she is a recruiter from Shine.com. Then, she asked her to visit the job consultancy in Bhikaji Cama Place for an interview and they collected registration fees of Rs 3500 and Rs 8500 from her through Google pay.
After this, the complainant was issued an appointment letter by Sunshine HR Global Services in the name of another private company, but it was forged and no job was given to her.
During the investigation, the details of the alleged mobile numbers were obtained and. A trap was laid down and a raid was conducted at B-50, Somdatt Chamber-II, 9, Bhikaji Cama Place.
During the raid, it was revealed that a fake call center was found operating in the name of Sunshine HR Global Services. The Delhi Police arrested Karan Kumar, Rohit Kashyap, Sweety, Yasmeen, Anchal, Preeti and Muskan.
As many as 16 mobile phones, two laptops, several registers and forged appointment letter pads in the name of Sunshine HR Global Services were recovered.
During interrogation, it was revealed that they cheated around 250 job seekers, with an amount of approximately Rs 23 lakh as registration fees.
