The Department of Public Enterprises is the nodal department and a centralized coordinating unit for all the Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and formulates policy pertaining to CPSEs. It lays down, in particular, policy guidelines on performance improvement and evaluation, autonomy and financial delegation and personnel management in CPSEs. It furthermore collects and maintains information in the form of a Public Enterprises Survey on several areas in respect of CPSEs. The Department has five constituent Divisions, viz; the Financial Policy Division, the Management Policy Division, the MOU Division, the Administration & Coordination Division and Permanent Machinery of Arbitration.
DPE also conducts several training programs under DPE's Research Development and Consultancy (RDC) Scheme for the executives of CPSEs and State Level Public Enterprises (SLPEs). The Online Training Nomination System (OTNS) is a web based system on the Nomination Process of various Training Programs conducted by DPE for the Beneficiaries from CPSEs/SLPEs.
