Nikon India has announced the new Nikon FX-format camera D4 that serves as the new flagship model in Nikon's lineup of digital-SLR cameras. Nikon India also announced D800, a new FX-format model, offers 36.3-million pixels as well as a variety of valuing-adding functions, available in a compact and lightweight body.
The Nikon D4 is engineered for the modern professional and incorporates HD-SLR video features along with 91,000-pixel 3D colour matrix meter and a broad ISO range from 100 to 204,800 for low-light capture. In addition D800 is equipped with a new 91K-pixel (approximately 91,000 pixels) RGB sensor that supports the Advanced Scene Recognition System. The camera is also equipped with Dual Image-Area Full HD D-Movie that let users' record movies using either the FX-based movie format or the DX-based movie format.

In addition to the D800, Nikon has released a supplementary model for those professionals who demand higher resolution and D-SLR versatility; the D800E. This model enhances the resolution characteristics of the 36.3-mega pixel CMOS sensor by doing away with the anti-aliasing properties of the OLPF inside the camera.
