element14 has launched the Freescale Tower system module based on the award-winning QorIQ LS1021A processor that delivers outstanding efficiency and versatility. With its dual-ARM Cortex-A7 cores running at up to 1GHz, the LS1021A processor is designed to enable smarter and more capable industrial connectivity and IoT gateway solutions with up to 2Gb/s of Ethernet performance.
The QorIQ LS1021A Tower system module is the latest addition to the modular Freescale Tower System, and is designed for rapid prototyping and evaluation of the next-generation QorIQ LS1021A multicore communication processor based on the new core-agnostic Layserscape architecture. Incorporating dual ARM Cortex A7 cores running at up to 1 GHz, the QorIQ LS1021A processor delivers extensive integration and power efficiency for fan-less, small form-factor, networked applications. The QorIQ family of processors can deliver over 5,000 CoreMark of performance, with the broadest array of high-speed interconnects and optimized peripheral features ever offered by a sub-3 W processor.
David Shen, Group Chief Technology Officer, Premier Farnell, said, “The Freescale QorIQ LS1021A Tower system module is a perfect platform for innovating with the processor’s hugely exciting and unique core-agnostic network architecture and will help cut design time and cost for developers of next-generation products in the IoT, communications and industrial networking markets.”
The QorIQ LS1021A Tower system module will be a welcome addition to the 2,000+ development tools already part of the element14 Design Centre, the most comprehensive range of development tool information on the market with industry-leading product data, including high-resolution images, schematics and video.
Priced at S$361.99, the QorIQ LS1021A Tower system module is available from element14 in Asia-Pacific.
