Stay tuned as Tesla prepares to roll out this feature — a game-changer for AI-powered automotive tech — as soon as next week.
Elon Musk has officially announced that Grok, the powerful AI chatbot developed by his AI company xAI, will be integrated into Tesla vehicles as early as next week. The announcement, made via Musk’s social media platform X (formerly Twitter), comes just days after the debut of Grok 4, the latest and most advanced version of the chatbot.
This move marks a significant milestone in Tesla’s long-term vision of AI-powered in-car experiences, enabling drivers and passengers to engage in natural conversations with their vehicles, issue voice commands, and potentially receive personalized, real-time assistance while on the road.

What is Grok AI?
Grok is a generative AI chatbot and large language model (LLM) developed by xAI, launched in November 2023. Each new version of Grok has introduced major enhancements:
Grok 1.5: Advanced logical reasoning
Grok 2: Improved coding and conversational abilities
Grok 3: Described by Musk as the “Smartest AI on Earth”
Grok 4: Recently launched with improved creative thinking, mathematical problem-solving, and an AI voice assistant called Eve
Grok is available through xAI’s website, the X app, and a dedicated standalone app. Its deep integration with X allows users to interact with the chatbot publicly via posts and threads.
How Will Grok Work in Tesla Cars?
Grok will serve as an AI co-pilot within Tesla dashboards, offering context-aware voice assistance, navigation help, and even entertainment during drives. According to a leak from well-known Tesla firmware hacker “green”, Grok’s in-car interface includes a range of personality modes, such as “therapist,” “argumentative,” “unhinged,” and “sexy,” though some NSFW modes may be restricted in vehicle settings.
As Tesla continues to blur the line between smart vehicles and intelligent software, Grok’s integration signals a new era of human-machine interaction. By embedding a conversational AI directly into its vehicles, Tesla aims to redefine the driving experience and further differentiate itself from traditional automakers.
