The tips for defending accounts and identity include checking the account for suspicious activity regularly. Users need to ask for immediate replacement in case of lost card. Debit card PIN should be changed often. One should regularly monitor the credit report so that he can spot and then report any fraudulent account activity.
As a precaution, it is a good idea to change passwords, making sure they are hard-to-guess and unique to each account. Users need to be sure not to click on links in emails.
