As per the latest update, former SAP board member Vishal Sikka is all set to become Infosys next CEO. The company will most probably make the official announcement within the next few weeks.
According to a reliable source, Sikka has been the choice of (KV) Kamath and (Narayana) Murthy for a few months now, much before other candidates were evaluated as part of the CEO quest. Interestingly, Sikka's stepping down from SAP was the first step in this direction.
Sikka was SAP's first Chief Technology Officer and a member of its management and executive boards since 2002. Being CTO of SAP, Sikka was taking care of the company’s technology platform, cloud operations, partnerships, SAP Ventures, as well as incubation of emerging businesses.
Market analysts believe that Vishal is a technology visionary, while Infosys as a company is an execution machine. The appointment, of course, when it happens, can help Infosys to industry-leading growth by giving an opportunity to turn perception in its favour. Here, it is important to mention that in the recent days, Infosys is facing negative publicity about stability in the senior executives of the company.
