In a bid to enhance security and performance, Mozilla has announced that Firefox will block the use of Microsoft Silverlight, Oracle’s Java, Apple's QuickTime and Adobe Reader by default.
Only the most recent version of Flash will be run by default.
Those who want to use plug-ins with Mozilla's browser will have the option to enable every, or no, plugins during installation. They will now have to manually allow the browser to run a variety of plugins.
These plugins will be blocked by Mozilla by using its click-to-play feature.
