Foxconn Is Expanding Investments in India

Foxconn, a major Taiwanese multinational electronics manufacturer, is ramping up its investments in India. Recent reports indicate that Google is in advanced talks with Foxconn to manufacture Pixel smartphones in Tamil Nadu.

This move would further solidify Foxconn’s presence in India and highlight the country’s growing role in the global tech manufacturing landscape.

Foxconn, known primarily for assembling iPhones, is reportedly looking to manufacture artificial intelligence (AI) servers in India. Expanding into AI server manufacturing marks a diversification of Foxconn's operations beyond its core focus on consumer electronics, particularly iPhones.

Industry experts said making AI servers in India would be a natural next step for Foxconn. The company expects its global market share for AI servers to rise to 40 percent this year from 30 percent in the previous year.

AI servers are crucial for supporting advanced computing tasks, data centers, and cloud services, indicating Foxconn's strategic move into high-tech manufacturing. Foxconn's expansion will further bolster India's manufacturing sector, aligning with the Indian government's "Make in India" initiative.
