Prakash Ramamurthy, the Chief Product Officer of Freshworks, has resigned from his position amid a significant management reshuffle within the company. Mr Ramamurthy is working closely with Freshworks’ chief executive officer to ensure a smooth transition.
This resignation comes amid a broader management rejig at the company, which includes the recent appointment of Dennis Woodside as the new CEO.
Freshworks, a prominent player in the customer engagement software market, has been undergoing various strategic changes as it continues to evolve its leadership structure. Ramamurthy's departure is a notable development, given his key role in overseeing the company's product strategy and development.
Freshworks has seen a series of significant leadership changes in recent times. Earlier this year, Pradeep Rathinam, the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), resigned from the company in February. These departures follow a trend of high-level exits, including Shan Krishnaswamy, the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), who left the company in September 2022. Notably, Freshworks has yet to appoint a new CTO following his departure.
In the midst of these changes, Freshworks has also made strategic hires. Last year, the company appointed Mika Yamamoto, a former executive at Adobe and F5, as its first Chief Customer and Marketing Officer (CCMO). Additionally, Johanna Jackman was brought on board as the new Chief People Officer (CPO).
These leadership transitions reflect Freshworks' ongoing efforts to realign its executive team and strategy to better navigate the competitive landscape in the customer engagement software market.
This change comes as Freshworks seeks to adapt and respond to market demands, and it may signal further shifts in the company's approach to product innovation and leadership. The resignation marks a pivotal moment for Freshworks as it navigates this period of transition.
