Gemini Live Now Works with Google Calendar, Maps & Tasks for Smarter Voice Commands

First announced at Google I/O 2025, the feature is now available to all users—free and paid—on Android and iOS.

Google’s Gemini Live AI chatbot is now officially integrated with Google Calendar, Google Maps, and Google Tasks, allowing users to manage schedules, plan routes, and organize to-do lists hands-free. The real-time two-way voice mode in the Gemini app can now directly access these apps to perform actions like creating Calendar events, finding navigation routes, and adding new tasks.

This highly requested AI productivity upgrade was first previewed at Google I/O 2025 and is now rolling out globally to all users, including both free-tier and Gemini Advanced subscribers.

When a query requires information from Google Calendar, Maps, or Tasks, Gemini Live automatically connects to the relevant app. Users can also manually instruct the AI to access these apps — for example, saying, “Find the fastest route to the airport” will trigger Google Maps instantly.

Key Features Now Available

● Create and manage Google Calendar events via voice commands.

● Find routes and real-time directions through Google Maps integration.

● Add and update tasks in Google Tasks without opening the app.

● Cross-platform availability on Android and iOS.

During these interactions, an on-screen icon confirms the connection, and after the session, a preview box lets users tap through to see the created Calendar event, new Task, or navigation route.

In addition to app integration, Google recently added real-time captions to Gemini Live, enabling users to read responses as the chatbot speaks. Captions automatically activate when the device’s volume is low or muted, making the AI assistant more accessible and user-friendly. With these updates, Google Gemini Live is evolving into a central AI productivity hub, streamlining time management, navigation, and task tracking for millions of users worldwide.
