MANJIT NAYAK
DIRECTOR - STPI KOLKATA, MEITY, GOVT. OF INDIA
“India’s technology trajectory is accelerating, with IT and BPM exports reaching $246 billion in 2025–26, growing 6% to 7% annually. Globally, India ranks third in startup growth, featuring over 2.5 lakh DPIITrecognized startups across AI, cybersecurity, FinTech, healthcare, and agriculture. To bolster momentum, the government expanded the startup turnover threshold from ₹100 crore to ₹200 crore while creating the dedicated MeitY Startup Hub portal. Building on a three-decade legacy, STPI continues empowering this vast ecosystem through state-of-the-art incubation facilities, domain-specific Centres of Excellence, lab infrastructure, seed funding, and ESDM hardware promotion. In today’s hyper-connected digital landscape—driven by rapid e-commerce expansion, high-volume UPI transactions, and mobile app adoption—data security and personal privacy are paramount concerns. Adopting cutting-edge AI and cybersecurity solutions is now critical for every enterprise. Following widespread regional awareness workshops, the practical implementation of the DPDP compliance framework represents a pivotal step, enabling attending CXOs, industry leaders, and businesses to safeguard personal, operational, and financial data against evolving threats. Ultimately, India’s world-class engineering talent, highly skilled workforce, and deep innovation capabilities must drive us toward becoming a self-reliant ‘Product Nation.’ Rather than depending on foreign imports, we must build high-quality, homegrown products that satisfy stringent global quality, safety, and security standards. By embracing DPDP compliance and emerging innovations, Indian enterprises and channel partners will establish digital trust, maintain cyber resilience, and elevate overall growth.”
