Huawei is reportedly planning its return to the Indian smartphone market, with the potential launch of multiple product categories, including smartphones, tablets, and wearables. Huawei had a pretty decent market in the country. However, the presence of the company declined after 2020 in the country due to stricter telecom security rules, along with geopolitical tensions between China and India. However, the company is now exploring the opportunity to re-enter the market.
According to a post made by leaker Sanju Choudhary, Huawei will be bringing a series of products, including TWS, laptops, smartband, smartphones, and tablets. In the post, he has also shared a screenshot of the Flipkart Huawei page where the message reads, 'Thank you! For visiting the page, launching soon!' What this means is that we could soon get to see the brand entering India, and all the interested customers will be able to purchase the devices exclusively from Flipkart.
Recently, the company also claimed the number 1 smartphone market position in its home country and shipped around 46.8 million devices in 2025.
If Huawei makes a debut in the Indian market, the brand is expected to be focusing primarily on tablets and wearables, followed by premium smartphones. Furthermore, users can expect to see HarmonyOS in India instead of the Google Android operating system. It will be interesting to see how Huawei clears all the regulations of the Indian government. Apart from that, rumours have it that the company will be focusing on the premium segment smartphones instead of foraying into the budget segment, where the competition is already very high.
