IBM has announced that it has joined Bank Information Architecture Network (BIAN), a technology association dedicated to creating a service-oriented architecture standard in the financial industry.
It is believed that, the addition of prominent banking technology visionary, IBM, to the board is the catalyst to delivering standards with greater quality at a faster pace, ultimately ensuring successful embedment within the industry.
Chae An, VP, Financial Services solutions, IBM said, "Open standards create interoperability and accelerate the adoption of new technologies that help industries work more intelligently. BIAN's collaboration with industry groups such as Object Management Group and SWIFT demonstrates its commitment to making its banking models more valuable to its members. Through the BIAN community, IBM will continue working to address the requirements of financial institutions through solutions based on open standards."
IBM has claimed that it has joined the 30-strong global community of experts from the banking and software industries, which includes ING, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Credit Suisse, Microsoft, Scotiabank, SAP, Callaty & Wouters, Infosys and SunGard.
