With the exponential increase in data, SMBs are expectedly looking for feature rich storage devices. Here IBM's Storwize V5000 perfectly fits the bill. "Storwize V5000 comes right in between, V-7000 and V-3500. This is basically a new entrant into the storage family," says Akhil Kamat, Brand Leader, Storage, Systems and Technology group, IBM India/ SA.
Launched in 2011, the Storewise family of IBM is targeted towards entry and mid-level enterprises. While Storwize V7000 and V3700 were launched with a view to high end enterprise customers and smaller and big size SMBs respectively, V5000 is designed for SMBs who were looking for more features.
"V5000 completes our entire storage family, the good part is with this we have now able to cater to the requirements of customers of different sizes," says Kamat. "So V-5000 basically is a product which is basically meant for SMBs with good amount of features which we had on the V-7000. The product is a good choice for a price sensitive market like India."
