Indian Army's robotic dogs 'MULE' (Multi Utility Legged Equipment) was a major highlight at the Republic Day parade in Kolkata on Sunday. The Robotic dog 'Sanjay' is an all-weather ground robot dog that can climb stairs, steep hills, and cross hurdles.
The Indian Army says that it is designed for several operations, including perimeter security, asset protection, and chemical-biological-nuclear warfare scenarios. They can also be used for explosives detection and disposal, intelligence, and surveillance.

The Army has procured and inducted 100 robotic mules in forward areas while logistics drones are undergoing trials which will significantly streamline support and movement to forward areas, especially in high altitude. A new tent for high-altitude areas is under evaluation for deployment at temperatures up to -40 degrees Celsius.
