
On the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, the board of directors of IT services major Infosys announced the reappointment of Salil Parekh as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD) of the company for the period of five years (July 1, 2022 to March 31, 2027).
Parekh is the only non-founder CEO to have managed to be at the helm of the company for a second term. When Parekh took over the CEO’s role, he stated that he is rolling out a new strategic plan “Agile Digital Business, Energise the core, reskilling and localization”, for the company which will transform the company within three years which he managed to do.
Before joining Infosys, he was a member of the Group Executive Board at Capgemini, where he held several leadership positions for 25 years. Parekh was also a partner at Ernst & Young and is widely credited for bringing scale and value to the Indian operations of the consultancy firm.
Parekh has more than 30 years of global experience in the information technology (IT) services industry, with a strong track record of driving digital transformation for enterprises, executing business turnarounds, and managing successful acquisitions.
