The chip-maker, Intel, is looking forward to institutions to increase the sales of its tablets in India. For this, Intel is in conversation with several state governments, explaining them about the usage of tablets as a tool to strengthen teaching methods in schools and colleges. In recent times, Acer sold 10,000 Android-based tablets to the Goa Government with the help of Intel.
Anand Ramamoorthy, Director for consumption sales, Intel, said that he is talking to the Chhattisgarh Government that wants to buy 100,000 tablets for engineering students in the state. He added that he has sold some tablets to Maruti and a few other companies, which are looking forward to use them in their manufacturing plants.
Aiming to bag the government deals, Intel is promising to provide both hardware and software support.As a matter of concern, it is observed that presently most of the Android tablets sold in the market are powered by Qualcomm processors.
