Indian Oil Corporation Limited (lndianOil), the largest commercial oil company in the country, continues to set up state-of-the-art refineries across the country to meet the growing demand for petroleum products. As on 31st March 2018, the company owns 11 (including two of its subsidiary) of India's 23 refineries with a combined refining capacity of 80.70 MMTPA.
As an organization, IOCL has experimented with latest technologies like IoT, AI, and oil terminals for monitoring the health of fuel stations. IOCL has also designed mobile apps for ease and convenience of the customers and dealers - FUEL@IOC is an app on which one can search about the nearest fuel stations, while XSPARSH is a mobile app for IndianOil Dealers.
As a commitment to the Startup India initiative, Indian Oil has started a start-up scheme, “an initiative to promote innovation and newer technology in the Oil & Gas sector”. Through this, it aims to provide a platform and market to commercialize its ideas.
