iOS 18 is set to introduce new features that will allow users to hide and lock apps on their devices. This update aims to enhance privacy and security, giving users greater control over their app visibility and access.
Users will be able to lock an app when they hand over their phone to someone. When an app is locked, if someone tries to tap the phone, they will be required to authenticate using Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode. Users can also hide an app that they don’t want others to know is installed.
iOS 18 allows users to hide apps they don't want displayed on the home screen.Locked apps require Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode for access, adding an extra layer of security . Parents will be able to hide or lock apps to control their children's access to certain applications, offering better management of app usage and content exposure.
Hidden apps are placed in a special "Hidden" folder within the App Library. This folder itself is locked and requires Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode to enter . Locked apps won't show information in searches or notifications. This prevents accidental exposure of sensitive content while sharing your phone.
