The entry of Jio into mobile telephony and devices market has brought disruption in both devices and the connectivity space of the telecom business. The wait for Jio Phone 2 is finally over, with the registrations begining from today. While the JioGiga Fiber promises to provide speeds up to 1Gbps, the new Jio Phone 2 will come with a new design along with support for popular social media apps like Facebook, YouTube, Google Maps and WhatsApp.
However, the company has announced that WhatsApp will also make its way to Jio Phone soon, though an exact date for its roll out is not clear at this point. The smart feature phone is the predecessor to Jio Phone and it comes with a horizontal display with QWERTY keyboard.
To meet the deadline, Jio has announced that Jio Phone 2 flash sale will begin from 12 PM onwards from today, August 16. The same phone was introduced at the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in July this year. However, it later announced August 16 as sale date for Jio Phone 2.

The phone comes with an unique feature of bigger screen display, with a new upgraded version of Jio Phone. Jio Phone 2, a smart feature phone which is much more than any ordinary feature phone and less than a regular smartphone, will be sold on Jio.com in a flash sale from today. It comes out with a special tariff plan too.
Reliance Jio is offering special tariff plans for Reliance Jio Phone 2 users. These plans work only if the SIM card is in a Jio Phone.

In terms of specifications, Jio Phone 2 comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card), 2,000mAh battery, and more. In terms of connectivity, the dual-SIM smart feature phone supports 4G, VoLTE, VoWiFi, 3.5G, 2G, WiFi, LTE Cat4 DL, FM Radio, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC. It gets 2MP rear camera and a VGA front camera with an introductory price of Rs 2,999.
