Union Minister for Communications and Development of North- east Region, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, has announced the dates for the 10th edition of India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026 during the MWC Barcelona. The event, regarded as Asia’s largest digital technology forum, will take place in New Delhi from October 7 to October 10, 2026.
Organised by the Department of Telecommunications under the Ministry of Communications along with the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), the event is expected to attract policymakers, industry leaders, startups and investors from more than 100 countries.
Global Collaboration and Industry Participation
As part of expanded international engagement, the GSMA Board will participate in IMC 2026. The organisations also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening strategic collaboration and enhancing the event’s global profile.

The partnership will focus on bringing global telecom leaders to the forum, encouraging board-level participation from international companies, and enabling cross-border knowledge exchange on emerging telecom and digital infrastructure priorities.
Announcing the event, Scindia highlighted India’s rapid telecom growth, noting that the country has become the second-largest telecom market globally, connecting over 1.2 billion citizens. He also pointed to India’s fast 5G rollout and the development of an indigenous, cloud-native 4G stack that can be upgraded to 5G.
Focus on Emerging Technologies and Startups
IMC 2026 will showcase innovations across multiple technology domains including 5G and 6G connectivity, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, electronics manufacturing, cybersecurity, quantum computing, satellite communications, deep-tech, clean-tech, smart mobility and Industry 4.0.

The event is expected to draw over 150,000 attendees, feature more than 300 exhibitors and partners, and present over 1,500 technology use cases. A key highlight will be the startup initiative ASPIRE, which is projected to host more than 400 startups and over 300 investors, incubators and venture capital firms. The programme will include mentorship sessions, startup pitches and more than 700 one-to-one investor meetings.
The previous edition of India Mobile Congress in October 2025 attracted more than 150,000 participants, featured 400 partners and exhibitors, and hosted over 800 speakers across 100 sessions, further reinforcing the event’s role as a major platform for global telecom and digital technology collaboration.
