Jyotiraditya Scindia meets with telecom equipment manufacturers to deliberate on boosting production

Communications minister Jyotiraditya Scindia had a meeting with telecom equipment manufacturers like Nokia and Ericsson etc. to deliberate on solutions for boosting production in India.
In a post on social media platform X, Scindia said, “Met the Advisory Group for Telecom OEMs (original equipment makers) to discuss solutions to boost telecom manufacturing in India. Deliberated upon key hindrances in exports, and government-industry interventions that would help domestic players compete, and expand their outreach in the world.”
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has formed six advisory committees consisting of industry stakeholders. The minister routinely meets stakeholders of the committees to take an update of the sector.
Apart from the equipment makers, other advisory committees include that of telecom service providers, internet service providers and infrastructure providers, telecom electronics ecosystem, satellite communications ecosystem and a committee of academics and R&D.
The six advisory committees have been formed with representation from companies that form the backbone of the Indian communication sector.
