According to the test conducted by Dennis Technology Labs, Kaspersky Lab has announced that its security solution for home users, Internet Security has scored higher than any of the other eight products participating in the Home Anti-Virus Protection test in Q3 2013.
Kaspersky Lab’s product earned the AAA rating, with a total of 1040 points just eight points shy of the total possible maximum.
In the Protection Ratings scenario, in which the effectiveness of a product’s anti-malware protection is measured, Kaspersky Lab’s solution earned 300 points. In the Legitimate Software Ratings test, which shows how security software programs affect the performance of legitimate applications, Kaspersky Internet Security earned 740 points, which is considerably higher than the average result achieved by the other test participants (688). Furthermore, the Kaspersky Lab product did not generate a single false positive.
The tests were conducted on a system running a 64-bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.
Based on the Dennis Technology Labs test results, we can see how a security solution behaves in conditions that are as true-to-life as possible. These tests use actual threats that users risk facing on the Internet. The ratings awarded by independent labs using these methods can help customers choose a truly effective product to protect their home computers, said Oleg Ishanov, Director of Anti-Malware Research at Kaspersky Lab.
In September, the independent lab AV-Comparatives named Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 one of the best security products for home computers.
