Manish Sharma steps down as Chairman of Panasonic Life Solutions India after 17-year tenure

Sharma leaves behind a legacy of innovation, local manufacturing expansion, and sustainable growth as he transitions to his next professional chapter
Panasonic Life Solutions India has announced that Manish Sharma, Chairman and ESGO of the company, will be stepping down after a distinguished 17-year journey with the organization. Sharma, who played a pivotal role in driving Panasonic’s strategic transformation in India, will continue to support the company during the transition period. Tadashi Chiba, Managing Director and CEO, will continue to lead the India business.
Under Sharma’s leadership, Panasonic evolved from a strong local presence into a diversified technology and manufacturing leader, with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric growth. He was instrumental in expanding the company’s footprint across the B2C, B2B, and B2G segments, enhancing local manufacturing, and spearheading digital transformation initiatives.
Reflecting on his tenure, Manish Sharma said, “It is with immense pride and gratitude that I reflect on Panasonic’s journey of building a strong local presence to evolving into a diversified and trusted partner that touches millions of lives. I feel privileged to have helmed this organization and worked alongside an incredibly talented and committed leadership team. Over the years, we have built not only a strong and diverse business but also a purpose-driven culture anchored in trust, innovation, and customer-centricity.”
He added, “With the renewed global strategy and direction, I am confident that Tadashi Chiba, along with Indian leadership, is well-positioned to advance the company's growth efforts. Panasonic is not only a company, but a legacy, and I firmly believe it is well-positioned for the future. This is the right moment for me to step aside from my executive responsibilities and accelerate the planned transition.”
A legacy of leadership and industry impact
During his tenure, Sharma strengthened Panasonic’s position as a trusted technology brand, expanding its manufacturing footprint and establishing the company’s largest facility in Jhajjar, Haryana. He also led the creation of the India Innovation Center, advancing local R&D capabilities and sustainability initiatives.

Beyond Panasonic, Sharma has been an influential voice in shaping India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem, serving on the SCALE Committee under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and holding leadership roles at FICCI, CEAMA, and the India–Taiwan Business Cooperation Committee. His contributions have been instrumental in advancing policy advocacy and the growth of India’s electronics sector.
