Microsoft eyeing the gaming segment?

A report says, about three billion people are actively playing games today, and fueled by a new generation steeped in the joys of interactive entertainment, gaming is now the largest and fastest-growing form of entertainment. Mobile is the largest segment in gaming, with nearly 95% of all players globally enjoying games on mobile.
The gaming industry has adopted technology at a massive scale, transforming the way gamers are experiencing virtual worlds. Meta-games are created with the intention of providing long-term goals for players, and in doing so, keeps them engaged longer.
It is given that Metaverse is a social platform and a platform where multiple people can play on the same platform or the same concept called multiplayer can be immersed in the Metaverse, which is among the primary reasons to create immersive gameplay. Gaming is the most dynamic and exciting category in entertainment across all platforms today and will play a key role in the development of metaverse platforms.

He further said, Microsoft has entered into a 10-year commitment to bring the gaming title “Call of Duty” to Nintendo platforms.
The $70 billion deal is Microsoft's biggest ever and will allow the company to develop Microsoft-backed games and software within the metaverse in the coming years. This acquisition will accelerate the growth in Microsoft’s gaming business across mobile, PC, console and cloud and will provide building blocks for the metaverse.
Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard is currently being scrutinised by regulators around the world. Regulators in the UK and EU are also scrutinizing the deal closely, despite Microsoft’s repeated attempts to appease regulators.
It has the potential to impact everyone, from the smallest indie developer to the biggest names in the business, and, of course, consumers. Competitors have expressed that acquisition could block them from access to Activision games, such as the popular ‘Call of Duty’ franchise.
