Microsoft might unveil AI-powered features for Windows 11 and its new Surface laptops soon. The tech giant which has invested billions of dollars in ChatGPT parent OpenAI, has also confirmed its New Era of Work event for March 21. The event promises significant announcements regarding new Windows 11 features, Microsoft Copilot developments, and updates on the Surface lineup. The next major Windows 11 update is identified as Windows 11 version 24H2.
Microsoft through a special webpage named Advancing the new era of work with Copilot has announced the same.
"Tune in here for the latest in scaling AI in your environment with Copilot, Windows, and Surface," the webpage reads further.
After this announcement, it is anticipated that new Surface Pro and Surface laptops with major advancements in performance and efficiency will be unveiled. The devices may be powered by Intel Core Ultra and Snapdragon X Elite-based processors, leading Microsoft to brand them as innovative AI PCs.
The Microsoft event will explore new Windows and Copilot features, possibly linked with the incorporation of the next-gen neural processing unit (NPU) in the upcoming devices. The most anticipated feature is the "AI Explorer", acting as an advanced Copilot, which transforms PC activities into a searchable memory using natural language.
It is also expected that the formal announcement of the next major Windows 11 update, identified as Windows 11 version 24H2, might take place at the event.
