Mumbai-headquartered robotics startup Miko AI has secured $10.5 million in funding led by U.S. audio media giant iHeartMedia. The investment focuses on enhancing its AI-driven companion robots designed for children, and deepening global expansion and content partnerships.
Miko AI’s founding team—Sneh Vaswani, Prashant Iyengar, and Chintan Raikar—launched the company in 2015 to build emotionally intelligent robots for children’s education and entertainment. The brand’s flagship models, such as the Miko 3and Miko Mini, use AI, IoT and robotics to deliver interactive learning experiences.
The latest round follows a prior Series D raise of USD 15.8 million and adds to Miko’s total funding of over USD 75 million to date. The partnership with iHeartMedia will integrate the media company’s vast audio-content library into Miko’s devices—expanding content capabilities while enhancing global market readiness.
Miko currently claims presence in over 140 countries, including major markets like the U.S., Europe and the Middle East, and recently began retail rollout with partner retail chain Costco in North America. The fresh capital will underpin hiring, R&D investment, and scaling production to meet rising demand.
The investment signals strong investor confidence in the broader AI-powered edutainment robotics sector, where the convergence of voice-based interaction, generative AI and smart companion devices is gaining traction. For Miko, key success will depend on achieving unit-economies, scaling manufacturing, and keeping pace with content licensing and regulatory compliance in child-tech spaces.
In summary, Miko’s $10.5 million fundraising milestone underscores how Indian startups are emerging globally in AI and robotics—and how the kids-edtech/robotics niche is poised for significant scalability.
