Tomorrow morning at the Rang Bhawan auditorium, Akashvani, New Delhi, Minister of Communications, Railways, and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, is set to unveil NITI Aayog’s groundbreaking initiative, the 'NITI For States' platform. This innovative cross-sectoral knowledge platform aims to serve as a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) for Policy and Good Governance. Preceding the launch, Minister Vaishnaw will inaugurate the 'Viksit Bharat Strategy Room' at NITI Aayog, fostering rich visualization and engagement with insights to facilitate informed decision-making.
The 'NITI For States' platform stands out with its multi-sectoral live repository, boasting over 7,500 Best Practices, 5,000 Policy documents, 900+ datasets, 1,400 data profiles, and 350 NITI publications. Spanning across 10 sectors and two cross-cutting themes - Gender and Climate Change, the platform provides a wealth of knowledge and insights essential for effective governance. With an intuitive and user-friendly interface accessible through various devices including mobile phones, the platform empowers government officials with actionable knowledge to enhance decision-making.
Designed to drive digital transformation in governance, the 'NITI For States' platform equips officials at all levels with contextually relevant insights. It serves as a valuable resource for functionaries like district collectors and block-level officials, offering access to innovative best practices from across States and Union Territories.
The 'Viksit Bharat Strategy Room,' an interactive space inaugurated alongside the platform, enables users to visualize data, trends, best practices, and policies in an immersive manner. With voice-enabled AI interaction and video conferencing capabilities, the room facilitates collaborative decision-making and holistic problem assessment.
Several government organizations have collaborated to support this initiative. iGOT Karmayogi brings online training modules accessible via the platform, while the National Data and Analytics Platform (NDAP) provides access to government datasets. The National E-Governance Division (NeGD) has contributed to developing the Viksit Bharat Strategy Room, with multilingual support from Bhashini. Additionally, the PM Gatishakti BISAG-N team, supported by DPIIT, has integrated geospatial tools for Area-Based Planning.
The launch of the 'NITI For States' platform marks a significant step towards leveraging technology to enhance governance, empower officials, and drive inclusive development across India's diverse regions.
