Motorola has unveiled its first book-style foldable smartphone at CES 2026, positioning the Razr Fold as a productivity-focused device with large dual displays, advanced cameras, stylus support, and on-device AI capabilities.
Motorola has stepped into the book-style foldable smartphone category with the launch of the Razr Fold at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026. The new device marks a strategic expansion of the Razr lineup, traditionally known for clamshell foldables, as the Lenovo-owned brand targets users seeking a larger screen experience without sacrificing smartphone portability.
The Razr Fold is expected to compete with premium foldables such as Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Google’s Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Motorola says the device is designed to deliver a familiar smartphone experience when closed, while offering enhanced productivity through its tablet-style inner display.
Display, camera, and AI features
The Razr Fold features an 8.1-inch LTPO inner display with 2K resolution, paired with a 6.6-inch external screen. In the camera department, the foldable includes a triple rear setup with three 50-megapixel sensors, covering wide, ultra-wide, and 3x optical zoom photography. For selfies and video calls, the phone offers a 32-megapixel cover camera and a 20-megapixel camera inside the foldable display.
Motorola has also highlighted on-device AI capabilities, including tools such as Catch Me Up for summarising calls and messages, and Next Move, which provides contextual recommendations based on on-screen activity. The device supports the Moto Pen Ultra stylus and will be available in Pantone Blackened Blue and Pantone Lily White colour options.
More details coming later
Motorola has not yet disclosed the Razr Fold’s battery size, chipset, pricing, or availability. The company confirmed that full specifications and market rollout details will be shared later this year. Alongside the Razr Fold, Motorola also showcased AI-focused concepts, including an AI-native wearable companion, a special Razr FIFA World Cup 26 Edition smartphone, and Motorola Qira, a unified AI platform developed with Lenovo.
