Mozilla releases Secure Web Payments App

Mozilla has announced regarding a new web payment system to make the payments easy and secure on connected devices. In addition to this announcement, Mozilla will also introduce a JavaScript API, navigator.mozPay() inspired by Google Wallet's in-app purchase API. It will be first introduced in the Firefox OS. After that, Mozilla has planned to add navigator.mozPay() to Firefox for Android and desktop Firefox.

Kumar McMillian of Mozilla has explained that the navigator.mozPay() has been designed to provide an easy payment system for usage to  users and merchants.  He has also informed the developers that Navigator.mozPay() is an experimental API that might change drastically or become unprefixed without notice. With the help of this payment system, the live payments on the Firefox OS phones can be processed easily.
 
The device for payments installed in the system would show a secure window with a “concise UI”, following which the user is authenticated and the payment is charged to the user's mobile carrier bill or credit card. After completion of the transaction, the app will deliver the product and repeat purchases.
The Firefox OS would bring mobile web content directly to users with web apps for a broader payment system. Thus, this alternative for payments by Mozilla will allow the users to pay in a secure manner.
