Elon Musk has shared an AI-generated video showcasing Tesla’s humanoid robot, Optimus, performing a wide range of tasks—from cooking and cleaning to martial-arts moves—just days after analyst Gary Black publicly challenged Tesla to demonstrate real, economically valuable use cases for the robot.
The video, created using generative AI tools, presents an imaginative depiction of what Optimus could do in the future, rather than a real-world performance. It shows the robot acting as a chef, a housekeeper, a delivery assistant, and even a karate fighter—roles far beyond what Tesla has officially demonstrated so far.
Black, a well-known Tesla supporter and investor, recently urged the company to provide clear, verifiable evidence that Optimus can perform practical tasks at scale, especially as Tesla positions the robot as a future multi-trillion-dollar opportunity. Musk’s AI-generated video appears to be more of a playful response than the concrete proof analysts are requesting.
While Tesla has shown real footage of Optimus walking, sorting objects, and performing basic motions, critics say the company must demonstrate meaningful productivity gains to justify its ambitious projections.
The video has sparked renewed debate around the current capabilities of Optimus, the role of AI-generated marketing, and Tesla’s timeline for deploying humanoid robots in real-world environments.
