My ambitions scare me at times: Norah Fatehi
2021-02-26The hot sizzling dancer who raised many eyebrows with her steamy performance in Dilbar song from Satyamev Jayate; Norah Fatehi is still on top favourite list of many, when it comes to Bollywood dancers. But the journey till here has been long and hard for the dancer-actress. Nora recently talked about her upbringing, her dreams and how coming to India was more a shock than just a new and exciting experience.
When asked how she would describe herself, Nora Fatehi said that she doesn’t want to go for words such as an actress, performer or an artist. She said, “That’s all a plus, but internally, I am crazy, hyper, hungry and ambitious. My ambitions scare me at times, I intimidate myself even.” She said she wished she could relax and go to the beach, but her ambitions drive her.
About why she forayed into the world of glamour, Nora said, “I didn’t know what I was, who I am, but I knew one thing, I liked to dance.” When she shared this dream with her father, she revealed he wasn’t very supportive and asked her not to say or think about it ever again. But Nora was determined. Nora Fatehi opened up about coming to India from Canada to make a place for herself in this glitz n glamour world. She confessed to have struggled for five years to reach where she is now.
She said she was pumped up about coming to India as it was opening avenues for people everywhere, but when she came here, it was “the biggest shock of her life.”
She said being a non Indian; she struggled with the language and culture here. She said, “I just wanted to learn and be accepted, but the minute a door was opening, it was closing in my face the next second.”
So, does she love fame? She said she does and she is happy with her audience and wanted to show the world that dancers can achieve success if they dream big and work hard. As for her ultimate aim, she said, “I want to make history in Bollywood.” Nora will be next seen in Bhuj: The Pride of India.
