The NASSCOM has unveiled a platform that intends to bridge between companies that are in search of digitally skilled professionals and certified candidates who wish to build their careers in the technology sector, named Talent Connect portal.
The portal has over 1.5 lakh skilled and certified individuals available for immediate recruitment. NASSCOM is hopeful that the number will reach upto 5 lakh within the next six months. The portal's launch phase has garnered considerable traction, featuring 30,000-plus live job opportunities from over 15 prominent tech companies, including giants like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Tech Mahindra, Salesforce, as well as startups and established tech firms.
The portal streamlines the hiring processes and enhances cost-effective deployment. The platform emphasizes core IT skills encompassing roles like customer care executives and data entry specialists, and emerging tech skills covering latest full-stack capabilities, programming languages like Java and Python, data scientists, and cybersecurity experts.
"Talent has consistently posed a challenge for companies, particularly in the digital realm. While India demonstrates a relatively lower tech talent demand-supply gap compared to its global counterparts, it remains a constraint considering the exponential growth of businesses in India. With companies extending their operations to Tier 2 and 3 cities in search of industry-ready niche technology talent, the NASSCOM Talent Connect portal emerges as a pivotal solution,” said Kirti Seth, CEO, SSC NASSCOM.
One of the notable features of the portal is its collaboration with Knovator Technologies, leading to the integration of gamification algorithms. These algorithms have been included to act as motivators for candidates so that they complete their certification. Additionally, the platform employs an AI recommendation engine in an attempt to enhance the matchmaking process based on skills and job requirements.
In the coming months, the NASSCOM Talent Connect portal will extend its scope to include learners seeking gig jobs and employers seeking gig workers, aligning with the evolving preferences in the job market, the national body said.
