NetIQ has announced that it has achieved a Common Criteria Certification at Evaluation Assurance Level 3 with augmented assurance (EAL3+) for its flagship Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solution, NetIQ Sentinel Version 7.0.1. This certification demonstrates the continued NetIQ commitment to developing secure solutions that meet the stringent requirements of government entities and the ongoing demands of organizations around the globe.
Common Criteria is an internationally recognized security certification required by government entities and enterprise organizations around the world seeking to procure commercial products. Organizations turning to NetIQ for SIEM for threat management and data protection can now verify the evaluation level certification of NetIQ Sentinel Version 7.0.1 to the EAL 3+ of the Common Criteria scheme, as defined by ISO/IEC 15408.
“More and more, government entities and enterprises are held to a rigorous set of performance and security standards for any technology implemented in their infrastructure,” said Michael F. Angelo, Chief Security Architect at NetIQ. “Common Criteria certification reaffirms our ongoing commitment to meeting the unique requirements of government and enterprise customers alike for SIEM and their successful adoption and use of our solutions.”
NetIQ achieved Common Criteria certification through Electronic Warfare Associates – Canada, Ltd. (EWA-Canada), whose test lab is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and approved by the Communications Security Establishment Canada (CSEC) to perform evaluations against the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation (CC) under the Canadian Common Criteria Evaluation and Certification Scheme (CCS).
“This certification of Sentinel demonstrates NetIQ’s continuing commitment to offer products that meet stringent international IT security standards verified through third-party evaluation and testing,” said Erin Connor, Director of the Common Criteria Test Lab at EWA-Canada. “Customers that buy Sentinel can be confident that it will be a trusted SIEM addition to their overall security posture and that NetIQ will be there to provide any needed support.”
