Next Leap - The Enterprise Cloud
2019-11-23
Enterprise Cloud computing in today’s day and age is not just about cost saving.
Decisions are derived from meticulously evaluating different service providers based on the credibility of the service provider, technical capability , capacity to expand when required and, customisation all followed by cost saving which becomes the final criteria.
Enterprise cloud computing users and regular public cloud users are like chalk and cheese. Unlike regular public cloud users, the main focus of enterprise cloud users revolves around system performance and data security. Systems should be quick to deliver a desirable application performance by using optimum architecture and IT Technologies. Additionally, these systems need to ensure they follow standard data security guidelines without compromising on data security.
In today’s competitive world, every organization needs to be agile with IT as a backbone to deliver business applications. IT is no more considered just as cost centre but it is now viewed as business enabler. Thus it is crucial for IT departments to have services and processes that match these evolving business requirements and adjust to newer business challenges. Common examples include e-companies like Uber, Ola, Swiggy and many more that have forced traditional enterprises to come out of their closet and compete with unknown players in a unknown battle field.
Mobile cameras or digital cameras challenging the dominance of traditional film rolls based cameras was an unexpected and accelerated transition. Thus enterprises today are evolving at a much faster pace with quicker adoption of technology which makes it very important for cloud service providers to empower these enterprise customers with an agile infrastructure, customised and scaled as per their needs and delivering high performance without compromising on data security while also saving costs for the organization to help them generate a decent return on investment.
Web Werks offers multiple levels of cloud computing platforms from simple public cloud to complex deployments like SAP HANA cloud infra deployment on Private clouds. Solutions at Web Werks today address a wide array of cloud solutions from government customers hosted on government community cloud to enterprise customers on virtual private clouds or dedicated private clouds. These solutions are backed by robust business continuity and data security services.
As the world goes mobile there is a higher degree of network dependency for delivering any business applications to users spread across the world. Today, possibilities include enterprises having business users spread around the globe in metro cities or, large enterprises with business having users spread throughout India in metro, tier 2 and tier 3 cities. Network dependency for both these users are equal but their field of operation is different. Thus their ground level difficulties don’t overlap. The first enterprise would look at cloud providers that have network providers around the globe with least possible network latency while the second kind of enterprise would require cloud providers that are fast enough to be accessed from any remote location in India.
Today, cloud providers are focussed towards deploying more edge clouds to ensure a presence in a customer’s local geographical region. This helps technology deployments like IoT where in faster data access and availability of resources is more local with lowest possible network latency. These deployments would be further reinforced with multiple edge cloud computing zones per region to deliver faster data services with lowest network latency.
In addition to this, Enterprise Cloud providers are deploying performance storage that allows customers to subscribe to additional IOPS for a specific value of storage which acts as first-rate customer centric technology deployment. Technology that cannot provide the required customisation and a higher amount of flexibility to scale resources as per client needs is basically impractical and futile. This further translates to better economics for customer.
In the deployment of blockchain and IOT greenfield projects, customers are often unaware of their scale of growth. Working with them as a technology partner rather then just vendor helps both to travel journey in a more smoother way. This also builds confidence and trust between both the parties. A true customer centric organization always works in collaboration with the customer.
