NITI Aayog launched the National Data & Analytics Platform (NDAP) for open public use. The platform aims to democratize access to public government data by making data accessible, interoperable, interactive, and available on a user-friendly platform.
Currently, NDAP hosts 203 datasets based on use-cases and expert advice, interoperable with each other, and easy to download and use. NDAP also has in-built tools to search, merge, and visualise datasets.
NDAP will add to and update the existing data on the platform and the platform features will also be updated based on user feedback. Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said that NDAP is an attempt to create a data-driven ecosystem that recognises data as a key strategic asset.
While launching the platform, Suman Bery, Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog, said, “The main value that NDAP adds is making key foundational datasets interoperable with each other. This will enable easy cross-sectoral analysis and democratise the use of Indian government data.”
