OpenAI has appointed Nitin Bawankule as Head of Enterprise Sales for India, effective mid-May 2026. He will drive company’s enterprise business strategy in India, working closely with organisations across sectors to advance the adoption of cutting-edge AI solutions.
He has a vast experience in in leading digital transformation, scaling high-growth businesses, and driving enterprise technology adoption across some of the world’s most prominent organisations. Over his career, he has led various companies like Google India, Disney+ Hotstar, and Amazon Web Services. He was instrumental in expanding cloud and AI capabilities for customers in the Indian market.

In his new capacity, he will focus on helping enterprises move beyond isolated AI pilots to achieve organisation-wide transformation, embedding AI into core workflows to boost productivity, enhance creativity, and strengthen decision-making, while ensuring responsible and sustainable deployment.
Prior to joining OpenAI, Bawankule led initiatives at Amazon Web Services focused on accelerating cloud and AI adoption in India. Earlier, at Disney+ Hotstar, he contributed to scaling one of India’s leading streaming platforms, and at Google India, he supported enterprises in navigating large-scale digital transformation.
