The yearly gaming Bonanza- VARINDIA IT Cup organized by Kalinga Digital Media was held in Infosys Cricket Ground, Infocity, Bhubaneswar . This was the 3rd version of the tournament, and was styled as HONDA VARINDIA CUP 2013. As always the objective of the cricket tournament was to bring harmony within different IT corporates.
Well known are the corporate competitions, but this annual match is to engulf the corporate in a friendly tussle and experience the real spirit of game. The tournament was supported by STPI, Bhubaneswar as part of IT Promotional activities. IT companies showered enormous interest in the tournament as 17 teams, namely Infosys, Tatwa, Discoverture, CSM Technology, ITAO( IT Association of Odisha), Mahindra Satyam, Absys, Exilant, Wipro, Auroin, Discoverture, ProcessMap, CSM Technology, SPARC, OCAC , LUMINOUS and TCS participated.
All league and quarter-final matches were played on 19th - 27th January, 2012. The final match was played by ITAO and Infosys and Infosys bagged the Champion trophy.
The tournament was more than just a game and essentially intended team building and frivolous time for the techies. This was not just an extravaganza to gear up the sporting spirit but also an effort to bring together different IT organizations from Bhubaneswar and the national corporates who have established their local presence in the state in a common conclave.
