
Good news for regular iOS WhatsApp users! While earlier Whatsapp beta programme was limited to only a handful of iOS users, the Messenger App has opened up its beta programme to every iOS users now. Interested users just have to sign-up to receive beta builds and try out the latest features before others.
WhatsApp beta programme allows users to test new features before they are made available to the stable build. While the beta programme is available to the general population on both Android and Windows Phone, there had been only a select iOS user to whom this facility was available.
To sign-up for WhatsApp beta, iOS users need to first download and install TestFlight app from the AppStore. Once installed, users need to visit the WhatsApp Messenger beta sign-up link on their iPhone or iPad to request a slot. After accepting the invite, users can finally test WhatsApp beta for iOS and will be added to the apps list.
WhatsApp iOS users are advised to note that they might lose the app data but chat history will not be deleted. Users should back up their chat history before updating WhatsApp to a new beta. The beta programme receives updates every two days and the purpose of the programme is to report bugs and issues you experience on the beta build. Since slots are limited, access to WhatsApp beta for iOS will be on a first served basis.
