P Sanjeev quits Honor
Huawei's vice president of sales at India - Consumer Business Group, P Sanjeev has quit the company after his tenure of 15 years.
Sanjeev was handling Huawei's sub-brand Honor in India. The development comes at a time when both Huawei and Honor brands suffered sales decline in the country following the ban imposed by the US government. Sanjeev has confirmed about his departure from Huawei.
According to analysts, both Huawei and Honor are sitting on a good amount of inventory. Huawei’s trade ban impacted India market as its shipments declined YoY. However, the brand continued to be in the top ten smartphone brands category, as per Counterpoint Research.
The US government in May added Huawei to an “entity list” of companies barred from receiving US-made hardware and software components without permission from Washington. Huawei had then said that it will continue to sell Android-based smartphones under both brands from its existing stocks.
